He entered a five-year general surgery residency followed by a plastic surgery residency at the prestigious Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida under the tutelage of world renown, D. Ralph Millard, M.D.

Following his plastic surgery training, Dr. Perez-Gurri entered into private practice in the Metropolitan Miami area in 1985 and has been a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1986. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds membership in various national and regional plastic surgery organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Chosen as one of South Florida's top plastic surgeons by his peers, Dr. Perez-Gurri has had the privilege of serving as an invited expert panelist on cosmetic surgery in local, national and international television programs. He has been a frequent guest on the Cristina Show, Sabado Gigante and Aqui y Ahora with Teresa Rodriguez. Dr. Perez-Gurri, a native of Havana, Cuba is fluent in English and Spanish. During the past twenty years, Dr. Perez-Gurri has established a loyal patient base from wide ranging areas of the United States, Central and South America. He is very active within the local community and donates his skills to La Liga Contra El Cancer, an organization dedicated to cancer patients who are unable to afford treatment.
