Smaller, Perkier Breasts
Breast reduction surgery is one of the most rewarding procedures because it provides emotional and physical relief for women with overly large breasts. Breast reduction surgery can help a woman attain breasts that are smaller and more proportionate to her entire body. When performed by an experienced plastic surgeon such as Dr. Perez-Gurri or Dr. Garcia in Miami, breast reduction surgery can help a patient enhance the appearance of her breasts, relieve tension in her upper back, and improve her self-image.
During this procedure Dr. Onelio Garcia and Dr. Perez-Gurri remove the excess tissue from the breasts to lift and reduct their appearance. Through a small incision from under the breasts to around the areaola, the tissues will be removed and the nipples places in a central position. The goal is to give you porportionate and smaller breasts that will improve your body contours along with give you better physical comfort.
Liposuction can target small areas of fat in the body. However, it is not always the best option for Breast Reduction because not only does it not affect breast tissue but it also doesn’t fix the positioning of the breasts.
Many times Breast Reduction is combined with a Breast Lift to enhance the natural results of the procedures. During your consultation, Dr. Perez-Gurri and Dr. Onelio Garcia will provide you with the best options for your desired results and needs.
Pregnancy can change a woman’s overall physique, especially her breasts. Following childbirth, most women experience a loss of breast volume. Women who have minimal sagging and would like to regain breast volume are ideal patients for breast augmentation. Mommy Makeover surgery with Dr. Perez-Gurri in Miami, is an ideal procedure many mothers have taken advantage of to remove unwanted signs of childbearing. The Mommy Makeover combines several procedures into one operation to help a woman regain her pre-baby body.
Patients can return home following their surgery. A surgical bra should be worn for the first few days. During the recovery process, it is recommended to wear a sports bra and bras without underwire. For the first 24 to 48 hours, patients may experience some pain and tightness. The next day, patients will return for a follow-up visit. Steri-Strip™ Skin Closures or small tapes will be used to close the incisions. The closures will fall off by themselves within 10 to 14 days. Most patients can return to work and can drive their car within seven days. If your job requires strenuous activity, you may need up to three weeks to recover. Exercise can be continued after six weeks. It is important that patients are aware that not everyone heals the same; each patient will recover at her own pace.
There will be some scarring associated with breast reduction surgery; however, with proper care, incisions should fade and become less noticeable.
The cost of breast reduction surgery will depend on the type of breast implants, surgery plan, doctor’s experience, and geographic location. Schedule a free consultation to receive a quote.
There will be some pain and discomfort that can be managed using prescription medication.

Breast reduction requires an “anchor” incision (also known as an inverted-T incision) that runs around the nipple/areolar complex and extends straight down from the six o’clock position until it meets the inframammary fold. The incision then extends laterally along the inframammary fold. Through these incisions, excess glandular tissue and skin can be removed. The remaining tissues and skin are redistributed and reshaped.
As with any surgical procedure, breast reduction surgery can have some risks and complications, which may include:
Loss of breast or nipple tissue
Altered nipple/skin sensation
Inability to breastfeed
General anesthesia is administered during the surgery.
Your breasts may heal with scar tissue that can become calcified and mimic an abnormality. You should let your radiologist know about your breast surgery so that he or she can take it into consideration.
Although breast reduction results are designed to last for a long time, patients who follow a healthy lifestyle are more likely to experience a better outcome. Unfortunately, this procedure cannot halt the aging process, and the effects of gravity and aging can alter the appearance of the breasts over time.
